The Enchanted Forest of Christmas in Plaza de Colón

This year, the main protagonist will be El Bosque Encantado de Colón, where Christmas takes care of tomorrow.

After a painful summer in which fire ravaged our forests, Christmas in Columbus wants to go beyond celebration: to become a gesture of support, a seed of hope... without giving up the magic that makes these dates unique.

Our key words this year: magical, solidarity and sustainable.

  • An Enchanted Forest from the hand of Reforest
  • A synthetic and sustainable ice rink
  • A unique Christmas market
  • And the solidarity of the NGO Manos Unidas.

The Enchanted Forest area will be filled with light, emotion and inspiration, with a route where visitors will discover different stops full of surprises.

The heart of the forest: the home of Reforest rangers

In the center of the Plaza de Colón you will find a very special space: the stand of the forest rangers of the Reforest Foundation, who remind us that the real magic is in caring, protecting and planting the future.

The trees of the Enchanted Forest are not decorations: they are lives in waiting, silent guardians that will soon repopulate devastated lands. In January, Reforest will move them to their true destination, where they will be planted to grow, breathe and fulfill their mission on the planet.

By doing so, we prevent their life cycle from being cut short by a one-time celebration and turn Christmas into an opportunity to provide continuity, hope and a future.

A seed of hope after last summer's fires.

A sustainable ice rink to enjoy without giving up on the planet

This year, the ice rink will also be sustainable: its surface does not use water and does not require refrigeration. These eco-friendly rinks offer the same glide as traditional ice but:

  • do not consume water,
  • do not waste energy,
  • do not use chemicals or refrigerants,
  • emissions and do not generate CO₂ emissions.

An environmentally friendly proposal that reduces the carbon footprint without sacrificing Christmas fun.

In addition to these spaces, visitors will be able to enjoy a Christmas market inspired by the traditional markets of Northern Europe. Most of the stalls will offer handmade products -toys, accessories and typical handicrafts- and the prestigious Chocolatería San Ginés will once again participate, accompanied by four other stalls selling nuts, cotton candy, popcorn and waffles that will provide a sweet touch for young and old alike.

As a highlight, the market will be crowned by a double-decker carousel, which will become one of the main family attractions.

A unique project committed to the city, which turns Christmas into a sustainable, solidary and open to all celebration.

A unique project, designed for the city and the District.
